Of course we cannot deny that many NBA plays have been disrespectful through the years. Some of them are:
- The famous Allen Iverson “stepping-over” Tyronn Lue. As most NBA fans know, Iverson crossed over Lue and made his shot. While Lue was looking at the ball , he fell on the ground and Iverson stepped over him in one of the most -if not the most - disrespectful plays of all time.
- Shawn Kemp dunks on Alton Lister. The dunk was really great. It was a tremendous poster. However, Kemp decided to make an unforgettable post-dunk celebration , pointing at Lister who was on the ground.
- Giannis Antetokounmpo dunks over Tim Hardaway Jr. : This is a recent play that happened during the 17–18 regular season. The Bucks were on the fast-break and Middleton threw an alley-oop to Antetokounmpo, who literally jumped over Hardaway and dunked the ball!
- Michael Jordan dunks on Dikembe Mutombo. Mutombo claimed that Jordan had never dunked on him. However, Jordan took his revenge during the 1997 playoffs when he posterized Dikembe Mutombo and wagged his finger. Note that the “finger wag” was Mutombo’s signature move!
- Wade posterizes Varejao and steps over him shortly after. Let this gif do all the talking:
- James Harden drops Wesley Johnson. Not only did Harden cross-over Johnson who fell on the ground, but also stared him down for a few seconds, before nailing an open three with style!
- Lebron James dunks on Jason Terry. Well, this was back in 2013 when Lebron was still on the Heat. Wade made a behind the back pass to Chalmers, who immediately passed the ball to Cole who threw an alley - oop to James! Lebron then stared down Jayson Terry.
EDIT: There are some more plays that I did not mention earlier:
- Scottie Pippen posterizes Ewing. While landing he seems to be pushing Ewing on the ground (either on purpose or because he lost his balance) and then provocatively keeps walking as if Ewing was not there lying on the floor. At least , props to Ewing for giving it a try to contest this monster dunk!
- Lebron James jumps over John Lucas to dunk. Another Lebron throwback play when he was on the Miami Heat. What an awesome alley-oop pass to Lebron , who perfectly threw it down. He did not stop there though as he stared Lucas down afterwards.
