Murali supposedly bowled with a bent arm, where his elbow flexed more than well, it’s 15 degrees now, but I don’t know what it was at the time Murali was called for chucking in 1995 (Wikipedia isn’t very helpful…)
Darrell Hair called Murali for throwing in the 1995 Boxing Day test, and then publicly stated he would call him again if he ever umpired him again. And so… he didn’t get to umpire Murali again.
It was later shown through biomechanical examinations that Murali had a congenitally bent arm, but didn’t quite say he wasn’t a chucker.
Anyway, Darrel Hair showed himself up to be a prize dick, because no one backed him. Murali went on to quite deservedly become the top all time test wicket taker. Any Aussie who argues Warne was better has missed the fact that Murali had a better average, strike rate, and economy rate, and played less matches. Murali also had a lot more 5 wickets in an innings, and ten wickets in a match than Warne,
Murali also had to bowl AGAINST Australia, which Warne didn’t, and as every Aussie will tell you, endlessly, Australia are the best team in the world.
And finally, Warne is a dick. Murali is a gent, through and through.
