Why has Messi never won a Puskas award, despite all of his incredible goals

Messi has scored so much incredible, jaw-dropping, out of this world and fantastic goals season in and out that choosing a particular one in a year will be the most difficult task; hence he’s deliberately omitted from the Puskas award.
If we go by the award, the 5–10 of Messi’s goals in every season will be so difficult to choose from the best.
The only player that will stand out and probably contend with him will be the self acclaimed ‘god'- Zlatan Ibrahimovich (he got one in 2014)
Since the aim of the Puskas award is to celebrate the most “aesthetically significant” and most “beautiful goal” of a calendar year…
Who other than Messi scores wonderful goals to merit that award?
Messi has been nominated a record 6 times since inception in 2009, only Neymar(4) and Zlatan(3) come close.
And only once he came second.
The most obvious ommission of Messi from the Puskas award was his solo effort against Athletic Bilbao in the copa de rey final 2015.
When the award was given on January 11, 2016 to a relatively unknown Brazilian, Wendell Lira, who plays for Vila Nova, a third tier club in his country, twitter went berserk venting out why Messi who took the 2015 ballon d'or missed out.
Conclusion:
Maybe its because we all expect Messi to score wonder goals all the time and its became a norm to us ,and thats why fans prefer to vote other players.
If not, Messi should pocket that award every calendar year.
